When will I next get a full night’s sleep!?

So, our little one has just passed the two month mark.  And with it, the added relieve that he is sleeping for longer hours at nighttime – Hurrah!  Fortunately, our guy hasn’t been too much of a nuisance at night, and he has maintained a fairly regular cycle of sleep – eat – sleep – eat.  For the first month or so he would sleep for about three hours before needing food, but more recently he has stretched that out to, on most occasions, four hours (and sometimes up to six!)  What joy!  I won’t go into the troubles we have encountered with what constitutes as ‘food’ – that will be for another post, and is much too much Mommy talk for this blog.

Daddy hasn’t had a full night’s sleep since July 19 – that’s 61 days and counting - but he expected that!  I’ve said this before elsewhere, expecting interrupted nights and experiencing interrupted nights are two completelydifferent items, and it does take some getting used to.  Hey – guess what!? I don’t mind waking up at 4 A.M. armed with a bottle to feed Mr. Hungry Mungry!  If I am still awake at 5:30 A.M. I may be revising that train of thought, but that has rarely happened.  My record of the time spent from the second I jump out of bed to the second I jump back into bed, which I am quite proud of is under 30 minutes!  I don’t have an official time-keeper on hand so I can’t offer you the exact split.

Hopefully, sometime soon (like this decade),  I may be able sleep from 10:30 – 6:30 without an interruption, but if I do, will my body be able to cope with the extra rest??
